HOW DOES IT WORK?
Depending on what area you are looking to treat may help determine whether Toxins or Fillers will optimize the look you need for the area you would like to manage. Toxins are a popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment that reduce fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily freezing facial muscles. This is a 10-minute treatment. Fillers, also non-surgical, softens vertical wrinkles common in the forehead. Results will be visible within two days of treatment and will last up to four months. Fillers are best for patients who specifically want to minimize wrinkles on the forehead between the eyebrows. Both treatments show results within days and can last up to 4 months. Treatments, however, are not advised if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a milk allergy.
An optional numbing cream may be applied topically to the area receiving the treatment.
The doctor will draw a few marks on the injection sites around your treatment area.
With a thin needle, a small injection is made into the treatment area.
You may experience temporary discomfort. Such as redness, bruising, or soreness around the injection sites, but this should clear up rather quickly.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH TOXIN AND FILLER INJECTIONS
The procedure is a comfortable, quick ten-minute treatment. After mapping where treatment will occur and applying optional numbing cream, the doctor will take a small needle to inject in the precise area.

Do not massage or pick at the injection site. Alcohol consumption must be kept at a minimum. Avoid any extra skin treatment (Like facials) for at least 24 hours. Do not engage in strenuous workouts; this can cause bruising. Avoid sunbathing, tanning, and hot tubs for a few days in order to minimize swelling.
The process of injections deals with arresting the existing muscles within the face to stop them from contracting. Effectively “freezing” them in place temporarily.

Yes, dermal fillers tend to last longer than Toxins. Some fillers last about six months, but others can last two years or longer. Most Toxin treatments last 3–4 months.

Toxins are not recommended for those who are pregnant, nursing, have skin issues like scarring, or have weak facial muscles. People with a milk allergy, multiple sclerosis, or other neuromuscular diseases should also avoid getting Toxin injections.
On occasion, the treatment will produce side effects. These include rash, numbness, headaches, redness, and irritation around the eyes. In extremely rare cases, Toxins can cause botulinum toxicity or paralysis.
